You & your looks during pregnancy!
You & your looks during pregnancy!
Yesterday my mom said, “Look at you! Why has your skin
become like this? There are so many pimples and no brightness in your skin! Pregnant
women should be glowing’.
Sadly, I don’t have that glow ☹. It was not there a year back also when I was
pregnant with my first son. But it had
not vanished off so fast! I told her, “Baby is sucking out all my happiness along
with calcium, iron, oxygen, nutrition and everything it needs.” She didn’t
agree, but how do I know why has it changed?
This is the first time I have pimples. Yes, you read it
right! I have never had pimples in my entire life, not even during puberty. How
blessed was I! But now, there is a new pimple every day and it always makes
appearance in clusters in the same spot. I know I can’t prick it will leave a
mark. All one can do is patiently wait for it to go away and pray to god that
no one is noticing your ugly face!
What I realized over the time is that I should now take care
of my skin as it dries up very fast. Feet becomes chalky white in just two
hours. So, now I ensure to carry a small bottle of body lotion and hand cream
to keep my skin hydrated.
My lovely lush mane has gone dry and frizzy, there was a
time when people used to compliment me for my hair! To control the damage to
some extent I’m using shampoo and conditioner recommended post hair smoothing. It
has become manageable and is soft to touch.
To top it all my neck line has become dark. Why God! Why!?
Now I understand the entire logic of melasma, how it helps in making certain body
part darker so that baby can identify its food, but why my neck & forehead?
And the best part is I can’t do anything about it. And if you are thinking I should
bleach, you are not allowed to bleach during pregnancy due to its harmful contents.
And a big surprise! There is no cream in the world which can
make stretch marks vanish. All those expensive butter creams, oils &
lotions are just not worth it. If you are destined to have stretch marks – that
is if your mom, granny and all ladies in your family have had it then you are
also blessed with it! To help reduce the dryness and itchiness I apply coconut
oil. These red scary marks will become silvery over time.
Everyone say that all this will vanish once baby is out!
Fingers crossed 😊
